Medior Software Engineer

For this position you need to based in the Netherlands

Healthcare is facing a quiet crisis: doctors and nurses are spending more time fighting with keyboards than treating patients. At Attendi, we’re building a medical AI copilot to give them their time back. Our tools handle the heavy clinical documentation - from live ambient transcription to structured report writing - so doctors can look at their patients, not their screens.

With an aging population, the pressure on healthcare is scaling faster than the workforce. We believe intelligent technology should step up and carry the administrative weight, and we need team members who want to build systems that solve real-world human burnout.

Your Role

As a Software Engineer here, you’ll own the full stack of the clinician's experience. Our application is scaling rapidly, meaning your day-to-day will be a healthy mix of bulletproofing our architecture and creatively experimenting with the user interface. We’re looking for someone who loves the sweet spot between shipping highly reliable code and prototyping new ways to make the product better.

You'll collaborate closely with software engineers, UX designers, mobile engineers and product stakeholders.

This role bridges design and functionality - helping voice-enable healthcare workflows through intuitive, high-performance interfaces. You will contribute to:

• The Attendi App: Our core full-stack medical copilot application.

• The Attendi Studio: The configuration platform for healthcare organizations to customize the app to their workflows.

• Our Developer Ecosystem: Internal component libraries and open-source projects, including ----- style="min-height: 1.7em;">

  What you'll do

  • Ship Features for Attendi App & Studio Build and iterate on user-facing capabilities for both our core medical copilot (App) and our enterprise configuration platform (Studio).

  • Help with the SPA Migration: Transition these product interfaces from backend-rendered templates to a modern, modular Single Page Application (SPA).

  • Frontend Architecture: Expand our component ecosystem using our design system and style guides to keep both apps maintainable as we scale.

  • Build an API-First Backend: Refactor our Django codebase to fully decouple it from the view layer, designing clean, performant APIs that power our web SPA, mobile apps, and Studio.

  • Scale Async Infrastructure: Optimize our Django + Celery setup to handle the high-throughput, real-time workloads required by our ambient speech-to-text engines.

You might be a good fit if you

  • Have 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer, preferably building accessible user interfaces with web technologies

  • Comfortable building UIs in a hybrid setup: for example using Django templates, Vue for larger interactive surfaces, support legacy web component system.

  • Have solid TypeScript experience

  • Have experience with utility-first CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS

Bonus points if you have experience with:

  • Storybook / component-driven development

  • Healthcare, multi-tenant, or regulated data environments

  • Interest in AI-assisted product features (LLM pipelines are part of the app)

  • Have an eye for UX and can put yourself in the shoes of users to create intuitive, high-quality experiences

  • Thrive in dynamic environments and can navigate ambiguity with ease

  • Big fan of automated quality assurance, like e2e testing, SLOs, SLIs

  What we offer

  • Salary between €6000 and €7000 per month.

  • Travel and lunch allowance.

  • Home office budget.

  • Lease bike.

  • Training budget of €1,500 per year.

  • Company MacBook.

  • ClassPass membership.

  • Working on impactful solutions for problems in healthcare: our solutions directly result in time savings for healthcare professionals - time they can use to deliver better and more personal care

  • Transparent and responsible personal development: we encourage growth by making development plans together and giving you the opportunity to follow courses that contribute to your development

  • Possibility to work from home: while we like to work together at our Amsterdam-based office, having the freedom to work from home when it suits you is important. Most of us spend two to three days per week at the office and the rest working from home

  • A great place to work - feel free to reach out to our team to ask what it's like

  • We are an equal and diverse opportunity employer

  • Regular drinks and team outings.

Our culture: people-oriented, curious, and proactive

At Attendi, you'll work in a small, ambitious team that learns and builds together. We are empathetic, take initiative, dare to experiment, and stand by our work. Making mistakes is okay as long as you learn from them.
