About Us:
Nopan is a payment performance platform built by former merchants, focused exclusively on account and wallet payment methods. We help large merchants, fintechs, and PSPs turn payments into measurable revenue drivers. We are payments nerds who are excited about global changes happening in the industry and we want and know how to make it better. In just 18 months, we secured our license from the Dutch Central Bank, formed partnerships with Europe's major payment schemes, including becoming a Principal Member of EPI/Wero, and went live with initial customers. Backed by leading investors, we are now scaling to become the default performance layer for account and wallet payments in Europe.
About the Role:
This is a founding role and our first commercial hire. You will be in the driving seat, shaping Nopan’s GTM strategy alongside the founders while owning the Enterprise opportunity end-to-end and often acting as a payments consultant to the people you sell to. You will lay the foundations of the commercial function at Nopan: pipeline discipline, CRM, materials, repeatable approach and help us hire the people who come after you. If you are curious about the payments industry and excited about the opportunity to build a global payments company from the ground up, this is the place for you.
What You’ll Do:
Shape GTM strategy alongside the founding team: target segments, market prioritisation, pricing and packaging, and how we position against PSPs and incumbents.
Build and run the pipeline yourself: identify priority accounts across European markets, find the route in, and drive multi-stakeholder deals through payments, product, finance, legal and engineering teams.
Help define and own Nopan revenue metrics setting the baseline for what good looks like.
Own end-to-end relationships with enterprise merchants, fintechs and PSPs from first conversation through commercial agreement, go-live and expansion.
Engage as a credible peer with Heads of Payments and payments leaders, learning about their pain points and translating what we do into outcomes they care about.
Bring market feedback back into the company: work directly with the Engineering team on what prospects and customers genuinely need and what we should build next.
What We’re Looking For:
8+ years in commercial roles in payments, including meaningful time either on the merchant side or selling payments to enterprises.
Deep understanding of merchant payments strategy and payments optimisations.
Comfort operating without a playbook and creating your own momentum. You can work independently and handle ambiguity in a fast-paced startup environment.
Relentless in the good way. Enterprise payments deals often take quarters, not weeks, and you stay warm, creative and undeterred across a long cycle.
You play the long game. You listen more than you pitch, and you stay a credible partner whether or not it converts. You know where to place your bets and when it’s best to step away.
You're energised by opening doors that were shut and you don't need a win to stay optimistic.
You're happiest in front of customers but you don't let the internal work slide.
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Plus:
Active in the merchant payments community e.g., MRC, MPE and similar forums, with the industry relationships that come from years of showing up.
Hands-on experience with account- and wallet-based payment methods in Europe: iDEAL/Wero, BLIK, Bizum and others.
What’s in It for You:
Join a passionate team of ex-Netflix, Visa, Microsoft, Adyen veterans at the ground level and drive the company’s commercial success.
Be part of the founding team and have a significant impact on the direction of the company.
Significant equity in the company, allowing you to share in the success you help create.
Flexible work arrangements and a supportive work environment.
We support and invest in your growth, including covering the cost of relevant courses, certifications, and training programs.
Endless opportunities for professional growth as the company scales.
