Brand & Social Lead (Berlin, hybrid)

A little about us

• What we're building: Kittl is becoming the AI-native, operating system for creative businesses. Most businesses don't lose on product, they lose on how they show up. We give small brands the creative firepower to look credible and get from idea to launch-ready, with no agency and no design team
• Rapid growth: 11 million users since 2022
• Diverse team: 120+ people from 30+ countries, with offices in Berlin and Düsseldorf and teammates working remotely
• Truly product-led company: Engineers, Product Managers and Designers sit at the core of what we build
• Backing: Raised ~$50M, led by IVP with Left Lane Capital and Speedinvest. IVP has also backed Figma, Slack, and Dropbox

Your role at Kittl

Kittl's marketing is conversion-led - great at driving performance, but no one owns what Kittl is like, how it makes people feel, or whether our target audience has even heard of us. We need someone who can write the line that makes a founder feel seen, and who's restless about getting Kittl in front of that founder in the first place - through ideas bold enough to actually cut through. This works alongside our design lead, who owns visual identity. This role owns voice, story, and standing out.

Tasks

This role is for you if:

• You have a gift for language - you notice when a sentence is doing real work versus just filling space
• You get restless with "safe" - you'd rather pitch the slightly-crazy activation that gets talked about than the tenth version of a banner ad
• You think about audience obsessively - not just what to say, but where our founders actually are, and how to show up there in a way that sticks
• You notice the thing everyone else scrolled past - the landing page headline that's almost right, the caption that undersells the idea, the touchpoint nobody double-checked
• You are both creative and strategic - you can go bananas with ideas, and just as readily hold the line on what keeps them on-brand

What you'll do

• Define and codify Kittl's voice and tone - then write the work yourself (manifesto, campaign copy, landing pages, launch narratives) at a level others can point to as the standard
• Dream up and lead brand activations, stunts, and campaigns designed to get Kittl in front of small business founders and make them actually care - concept through delivery
• Represent brand thinking in leadership and strategy conversations, pushing back where decisions threaten brand consistency/integrity
• Find and pitch unconventional ways to build awareness - partnerships, community moments, founder-facing events, anything that gets us known beyond our existing paid and influencer channels
• Bring bold, sometimes "crazy" ad concepts to growth/performance marketing - and know how to make them convert, not just turn heads
• Guide teams early - in briefs and reviews - so tone and ambition are right from the start, not fixed after
• Audit our messaging and presence across our touch-points (website, landing pages, ad/video scripts, campaign concepts, brand activations), ensuring excellence and consistency in all

Requirements

Who you are

• 5+ years (sharp instincts, real experience, not yet coasting on a title)
• You have done this in-house - ideally agency first, then owning brand at a small company where there was no one else to hand it to.
• You know how to move from a wild idea to something that actually ships
• You've picked the channel, not just written the words - activations, partnerships, events, community, wherever your audience actually is
• You are comfortable being the lone brand voice in a growth-led org
• Background in FMCG, DTC, or consumer goods brands is a strong plus
• Social media or community-building experience is a plus

Show us, don't tell us

Send us 3 pieces (in the cover letter section) you owned end to end - a campaign, an activation, a launch, a piece of writing that did real work. For each one, tell us briefly: what you did, where it ran, and what happened. We'd rather see one scrappy idea you fought for and shipped than five polished pages from a deck.

Interview process

• Recruiter interview (30 min)
• Hiring Manager interview (45 min)
• Case Study interview (60 min)
• Bar Raiser interview (45 min)

You'll do well here if:

• You pick up problems nobody assigned you. If something's broken and no one has stepped up, you're the person who does
• You'd rather make the call and adjust than wait until you're certain. Speed is how we win
• You want to own a domain deeply enough that people rely on your judgement in it, whether or not you manage anyone
• You'll argue for your position and commit fully when the call goes the other way
• You care about details other people would call excessive. We hold a higher bar than most, on purpose
• You use AI constantly and still own every word you ship

Every new hire should raise the bar in some meaningful way, not just fill a seat. We hold to that, and it's why you'll be working with the most talented people from all over the world.

Benefits

• Real ownership: You own what you ship, end to end. Whether you lead a team or lead through craft, we back you to work on what matters most
• Work at the edge of AI and design: Kittl sits where AI, design and commerce meet. You'll be learning on the frontier, not reading about it
• Work-life balance: 30 vacation days a year, plus public holidays
• Hybrid working style: 3 days a week in our office in the heart of Prenzlauer Berg, the rest of the week from home
• Remote work: On top of that, work from anywhere in the world for up to 50 days (10 weeks) a year
• VESOP: Enrolment in our Virtual Employee Stock Option Plan. When Kittl grows in value, you share in it
• Lunch: Daily chef-prepared meals in the office
• Mobility: Your monthly BVG ticket, fully covered
• Health & fitness: Urban Sports Club M membership
• Learning & development: Annual L&D budget for your professional growth
• German classes: Online group courses at every level
• Hackathons: Quarterly hackathons to experiment with new ideas, push boundaries and build the next big thing
• Kittl Week: Each year, our global team gathers for a whole week to work, celebrate, get inspired and have fun
