Associate Director - Strategy & Transformation

A little bit about us

Riverflex was founded in Amsterdam and London in 2018 and has grown into a global team of consultants united by one mission: help courageous leaders drive intelligent transformation. We integrate three service pillars - strategy & transformation consulting that Creates Change, talent services that Build Teams, and business-accelerating AI products that Augment Intelligence.

We work at C-level with blue-chip companies on the programmes that actually matter, and we are growing, this hire being a central part of it.

Your role as Associate Director, Strategy & Transformation

We are looking for a seasoned strategy and transformation consultant ready to step into a senior client-facing role with real ownership. You will lead complex, multi-workstream engagements for large enterprises - from strategy through to execution - while building trusted relationships at C-suite and senior leadership level. This is a delivery-first role with a clear commercial dimension.

What you’ll be working on

You will step into an active portfolio of senior client engagements, leading complex transformation programmes from strategy through to execution. In practice, this includes:

• Leading enterprise transformation programmes end-to-end, including programme governance, KPI and OKR management, and executive-level reporting

• Driving technology strategy and roadmap development across business, IT, and finance stakeholders

• Leading organisational change and communications for large-scale programmes where stakeholder alignment and adoption are critical

• Acting as primary point of contact for senior client relationships, building trust and managing challenges proactively

• Managing multiple engagements simultaneously while maintaining quality and client satisfaction

• Contributing to proposals, account growth, and business development

• Leading, mentoring, and developing the consultant teams working alongside you

• Shaping Riverflex's practice through methodology development and thought leadership

Who you are

• 8–12 years in top-tier consulting or a related field, with a strong track record in strategy, digital transformation, or enterprise IT

• Proven ability to lead large-scale, cross-functional transformation programmes end-to-end

• Comfortable operating independently at C-suite and senior leadership level - you hold the room without a director behind you

• Commercially minded - you spot growth opportunities, contribute to proposals, and take ownership of account relationships

• Strong communicator in English (C1 minimum); Dutch is a plus

• Willing to travel as needed

• EU-eligible or open to a Dutch highly skilled migrant visa - we sponsor. 30% ruling support available.

What we offer

• A competitive compensation package.

• 25 days off per year, plus a full week off between Christmas and New Year.

• Flexible work from abroad for up to 6 weeks per year.

• Pension scheme to help you plan for your future.

• Learning & Development budget.

• ClassPass membership.

• Access to the latest tools: ChatGPT Pro, Claude, Notion, Sembly, SlideHub and Riverflex's in-house developed software.

• Equity share scheme for long-term team members.

• A clear path to Director with profit-share upside

Why join now?

Riverflex is at an inflection point. We have built trusted relationships with some of Europe's most complex organisations and the demand for senior strategy and transformation expertise is only growing. This is not a role where you slot into an existing structure - you are stepping into a senior position with an active client portfolio, founder-level backing, and the autonomy to shape how we grow. If you are looking for a place to do your best work and leave a mark, this is it.
